The Walking Dead Video Game with Norman Reedus & Michael Rooker

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct will be available in 2013 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.  Of course we will have to wait and see what the game play looks like but having Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker voicing their characters of Daryl and Merle is a good start.  From the teaser it looks like the game is a prequel that will perhaps lead up to how Daryl and Merle made it to Atlanta in the first place.

This type of game (if done correctly) opens up a world of possibilities.  Games could be made based on the back stories of every popular character on the show, or even a mix of different characters showing how they got to where we first saw them.  Most of the characters on the show, with the exception of Rick, haven’t really had much of their back story given at this point so the sky is the limit.  Daryl and Merle are such popular characters, with shady pasts, so a game about them could work even if it starts before the zombie outbreak.
