The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 9: The Suicide King (Part 1)
At the prison, Tyreese and his ground are going to bury their dead.
Some of the members of his group want to try and kill everyone at the
prison and take it over but Tyreese tells them that is not how they do
things and that these are good people. After this incident, I have a
feeling the two guys in Tyreese group aren’t going to make it. Rick and
Glenn get into it as well, because they went through all this effort
and risk and ended up with nothing. Glenn is also mad that Rick didn’t
kill the Governor.
Things aren’t any better in Woodbury. The citizens are trying to
leave the town because they don’t think it’s safe anymore. The
Governor’s men are starting to get violent with them and the Governor
himself is no where to be found. He has locked himself in his
apartment. To make matters worse, some biters have gotten through the
fence and attack several of the citizens. After taking care of them, a
victim is laying on the ground dying from his wounds while everyone
around him is asking for someone to help him. The Governor walks out of
his apartment without saying a word and shoots him in the head, then
walks off.
Carol and Carl have a conversation about how loud the world used to
be. They would give anything to hear planes flying overhead again and
hear cars with their horns. Carl shows regret over how he treated his
mom during the last part of her life but Carol says he can’t think like
that, she was proud of him. Just then Rick pulls up to the prison and
they let their vehicle through. Carol doesn’t see Daryl and gets really
worried but Rick tells her that he is still alive, he just went off
with Merle. We see just how confused and disappointed Carol is, because
Daryl didn’t even say goodbye.
Andrea comes storming into the Governor’s apartment to confront him
about killing that man in front of everyone and not being out there
holding things together. The Governor says if the town’s people want to
leave, let them, he isn’t holding their hands anymore. He says they
have had it too easy but that ends now because they are at war. Andrea
asks why Daryl was there and he tells her he was trying to free the rest
of Andrea’s friends they had been holding. The Governor says Andrea is
just passing through, just a visitor, so why should he tell her
anything. She says not to push her away.
There is a weird moment were Beth gives Rick a hug and kisses him on
the cheek. It looks like she is crushing on Rick. Rick talks to
Hershel about what happened and about the Governor and what he is like.
Rick can tell Hershel has some kind of information he hasn’t told him.
They head back to the cell block and pass right by Tyreese and his
group without a word. That kind of treatment doesn’t exactly put
Tyreese’s group at ease.
